Why did you do today what you did?

What is your Why for being in Business?

My Why

I love the freedom of not owning an alarm clock, deciding when to work and when to play,
the time to sew and time to play in the kitchen with my little chef's.

My why for what I do in business (sell books) is because I LOVE books. I love reading them, love how they smell, enjoy handling them, and love living in a library environment. Now I have no fear of running out of something to read!

And, I wear comfortable clothes, shoes only when I go outside, stay up late, sleep in, and work on my business everyday.

Today I have wrapped packages to go out from yesterday's Black Friday sale, fixed an address list for Christmas cards, sent delivery confirmation to a lady who forgot she got her books, and I'm right now getting ready to list more craft booklets.

I never need to worry that I'll run out of things to do...

And I always have a book close at hand!

My Why I Do Business is because I love to deliver my gift baskets and see the happy faces, and I love to hear and read the comments of satisfied customers.

I love to order supplies. It's so much fun shopping for my business. I love to pick and choose what my customers might like and enjoy. I know that I've always loved shopping. This gives me a real good excuse to shop!

It's mostly such a happy business, except when I deliver or ship bereavement baskets. But, in those cases, I know that I'm helping people in the grieving process. That gives me satisfaction to know that I've had a hand in helping people through a bereavement.

Have a good rest of the weekend all!

Warm regards,
Sherrill

I love to see the positive impact on my customer's health. In some cases it is truly life-changing for them. It is so rewarding to see a person who hasn't had a decent night's sleep in years call me practically in tears because they can finally sleep again. It is the same type of response with other health issues as well.

I also love the fact that I am in control of my own destiny and that I can make as little or as much as I want and I am not subject to a boss or a company (like my last job) that is on shaky financial ground.

Helping others helps me.

Cheers,
Rhonda

My Why...My daughter. We started our home based businesses when she was born 5 years ago. We both wanted to stay at home to take care of her. It has been such a blessing in our lives.

Followed my intuition ... I don't always or often know why in the moment. The "why" comes later in the form of an "Ah Ha!"

MY WHY:

About a year ago, I needed some extra money for Christmas and to get out of debt. My husband and I decided that I would stay home once we had kids, so I decided to join The Pampered Chef team.

I did a lot of research before I signed up to be a consultant, because I had already tried several other businesses...with no success (hence the debt.) Since the starter kit was only $90, and included over $350 worth of Pampered Chef products, I figured that if I didn't like it, I could keep the products or sell them on ebay. I made over $150 at my first show, and the rest is history!

Well, that was a year ago, and I'm still going strong! I think if you love what you do and the products you sell, it's easier to sell them to others.

I love the fact that I can stay home with my kids while making a full-time job income.

That's My Why!
